The Face Of 2012

Christian Wiles Hairdressing ‘award winning salon’ nationwide search for the new face for their company branding. Enter our modelling competition for a chance to kick-start your career as a model and win over £1000 worth of prizes.

Ways to enter:
Print out and fill in an application form. You can download the form at the bottom of this post (‘alt’ click or left/right click). Attach a clear full length photo and a head and shoulders photo, and then post to: Christian Wiles hairdressing, 1.St Edmunds Street, Northampton, NN1 5SH.

Alternatively you can scan the completed form and save it as a PDF or JPG file and email it, along with photo attachments, to: christianwileshair@me.com. If you do not have access to a scanner or don’t want to post the form, you can email your details, along with photo attachments, to the email address above.

How The Competition Works:
Submit your entry before the closing date of 29 October 2011. Ten lucky applicants will be chosen for our grand final catwalk event. This will be judged by a panel of industry professionals which will consist of photographers, make-up artists and designers. The lucky winner will then be crowned as The Christian Wiles Hairdressing ‘FACE OF 2012’. The first Photo Shoot will then take place in January 2012.

What You Will Win:
• Four Photo shoots over the year which will be used for the company advertising and competition work, billboard advertising and magazine advertising.
• Help to build a portfolio of work.
• Cloud nine irons and the new cloud nine wand.
• A selection of MATRIX hair care products.
• A years worth of FREE hairdressing.
• Local media coverage of the event.
• Expert advice on how to further your career in modelling.

Rules and Guidelines:
The entrant must be open minded with your hair as it will be coloured leading up to the catwalk event.
The entrant must be an unsigned model.
The entrant must be available for clothes fittings leading up to the final event.
The entrant must be available in December 2011 for the Grand Final.
If the entrant is under 18 then she must be accompanied by her parent/guardian and have written consent. Female entrants only.
The entrants will be responsible for all travel cost’s leading up to the event.

Matrix Destination Fame 2011 Winners

After 22,000 public votes and 16 hours of scrutiny from an expert panel, the MATRIX Destination Fame 2011 winners have been chosen.

Congratulations to our very own Natasha Douce on becoming one of the three winners. She will now experience a Year of Fame with professional brand MATRIX, which will include mentoring by some of hairdressing’s most innovative and iconic names and creating looks for the MATRIX 2012 calendar. Natasha will also assist at hair shows both within the UK and internationally, and will attend the MATRIX overseas conference in 2012.

This is an amazing achievement for us to have won this competition two years running, and a fantastic opportunity for Natasha to take her hairdressing career to the next level.

Matrix Destination Fame finalist

Congratulations to Natasha Douce who has reached the final of MATRIX Destination Fame. Natasha is the third stylist from Christian Wiles Hairdressing to reach the finals over a four year period.

“The standard of work has just got better and better, and I’m happy to be working along side such talent”, says Christian.

Christian Wiles Hairdressing would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone involved, for their hard work and support. The Destination Fame final will take place at the Loreal building in London on the 10th of July.

Inspiration:
Huge 60’s influence with the mia farrow crop mixed with kate winslet (front cover of ‘april vogue’) this year the more ‘on trend’ looks are above the shoulder, with a ‘pixie- crop’ for the more daring. i used disconnection and collapsed layers, then added texture to keep the look soft.

MATT GAVIN

Inspiration:
Colour blending is massive on the catwalk and editorial shoots, celebrities like ‘alexa chung’ are making this look which makes it accessible to the high street. i used a strong base line and introduced texture throughout the top section of the haircut to ensure the look is soft and feminine.

KELSEY CRICK

Inspiration:
I believe that red heads are the blondes of 2011, this has been a huge influence from the likes of ‘rihanna’. i have chosen a combination of red and red violet tones, which has created a 3d effect and enhanced the disconnection and made the cut look a lot stronger.

Matrix Destination Fame 2011

The fourth annual Destination Fame competition was launched in April. Any hairdresser in the UK & Ireland can enter. Winners will experience 12 months of fame by showcasing their talents at an amazing 3 day photo shoot, mentored by some of the UK and Ireland’s best hairdressers.

Destination Fame – Winner

After winning “Destination Fame” Harry Nichola of Christian Wiles Hairdressing, Northampton, has been on a ‘rock and roll’ journey working along-side some of the biggest names in the industry.

Mentored by celebrity hairdresser & Matrix ambassador ‘Jamie Stevens’, Harry has been involved with working on the Matrix calendar shoot, Matrix Conference in Portugal, has assisted Jamie on ‘Gok Wan’s Fashion Fix’, attended the Matrix Conference in Manchester and has just completed three Matrix live tour dates.
